Lake Twentytwo

Stepping out from the forest of cedar and moss I am stunned by what I see. Lake Twentytwo sits at the base of Mt. Pilchuck. Above the lake is the northern face of the mountain veiled by a thin layer of clouds, behind are large melting snowfields, waterfall after waterfall cascading down the rocks, and immense boulders scattered around the base of the mountain.

Standing there alone I am so overwhelmed by the scenery. Overwhemled by the vastness, the rawness and the beauty.

Standing there I feel so alive and things fall into perspective. I am reminded of the power nature has over me. Reminded how much I love being in the woods and finding places like this.

I just want to sit and stay.

This is where I find peace.
